Town Hall with Representative Clark
More than a dozen Minuteman Indivisible members attended Congresswoman Katherine Clark's town hall meeting in Cambridge on Friday, March 3rd. Over 250 people attended the meeting and Representative Clark spent almost 2 hours addressing questions on a wide range of subjects including the Affordable Care Act, Russian interference in the election, Climate Change, Immigration Policy, and potential Federal Budget cuts. Clark expressed her concern about Jeff Sessions, the Russia connection and renewed commitments to protecting minority populations. Two of our members were able to ask questions and all of the topics we are focusing on were discussed. We posted photos on both Facebook and Twitter and also re-tweeted a short video that Representative Clark's office shared.
Joint Meeting with Other Indivisible Groups March 4, 2017 Members of Minuteman Indivisible attended a joint meeting in Arlington with Arlington Indivisible District 5 and Metro West. About 175 people in total attended, with about 3/4 of the total attending an Indivisible meeting for the first time,
MORNING COFFEE ACTIONS (Actions you can do while enjoying your morning cup!)
Call our Senators to Urge them to Continue to Demand a Special Prosecutor and Select Committee Investigation into Russian Involvement in our Election and Government.
Recent reports indicate that our Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, at best misled Congress about his meetings with Russians during the 2016 campaign. An independent Special Prosecutor is needed to determine the truth about the election and Russian influence in our democracy. Call Senators Markey (202 224-2742) and Warren (202 224-4543) to thank them for pursuing this issue and urge them to continue. (Submitted by MI member)
Oppose House Bill 610: Choices in Education Act
The bill will repeal the Elementary and Education Act of 1965 (ESSA), which is the nation's educational law and provides equal opportunity in education. ESSA is a big comprehensive program that covers programs for struggling learners, AP classes, ESL programs, programs for students of color including Native Americans; as well as Rural Education, Education for Students who are Homeless, School Safety, Monitoring and Compliance and Federal Accountability for these and other Programs. The bill also abolishes the Nutritional Act of 2012 (No Hungry Kids Act) which provides nutritional standards and funding to states for in-school breakfast and lunch. Call your US Congressperson and state your opposition.

Tell State Legislators to Support Safety Without Discrimination
Let the White House know your feelings on an issue, while also protesting the influence of Steve Bannon in our government. Mr. Bannon is President Trump’s Chief Strategist. He also ran Breitbart.com as, in his words “a platform for the alt-right.” To do this, write and send a postcard about an issue to: President Bannon, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20500” (Submitted by MI member)
General Strike: A Day without Women
