Concord Indivisible Vote By Mail Huddle Sunday, June 7, 4:00 PM
With Susan Labandibar, Greater Boston Sign Left
The outcome of the 2020 elections could well be determined not by how Americans vote but by which Americans vote. Voting access is a critical issue and Vote By Mail is the key. Come to the Huddle ready to dive into your virtual action project. Calling all post carders, texters, phone bankers, let's work together on making Vote By Mail a success.
Muster Together @ Home Monday, June 8, 7:00 PM Please join us to catch up on the latest activities to support our 2020 candidates and do a little progressive socializing, but at home on Zoom instead of at First Parish. We Need You - November is Right Around The Corner!

A new postcard campaign for Vote-By-Mail (VBM)
Postcards: After completing a very successful postcard program for the Democratic Party of Sarasota Florida, volunteers will begin to assist Sarasota's northern neighbor, Manatee County. Research done on the Sarasota County effort showed terrific success in converting "regular" registered voters to VBM voters. The conversion is important because voters who register to submit a ballot by mail actually VOTE at a rate50% higher than persons who intend to go to the polling place. Since Florida is a battleground state we are fighting for the electoral college votes, finding sufficient volunteers to expand this program into additional counties is critical.
If you want to start writing postcards at the meeting, please pick up your packet sometime between Thursday June 4 and June 8. (All packets are super sanitized.)
Location: (address provided in RSVP) When: Daily, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fee: $20. to cover materials - leave in container provided (Cash preferred or check made to Jean Milburn) The cost per card is higher this time because we are including two stamps for each voter. Research indicates voters responded much better than anticipated to the addition of a stamp on the return card.
Note: If you need help getting a package, please contact Jean at 508-358-2563.

Montana is one of our best opportunitites to pick up a Senate seat in 2020.
Steve Bullock, the current Governor of Montana, was born and raised in Montana. Already a popular figure, his handling of the COVID-19 crisis has earned him a 70% approval rating in a red state. He previously served as Montana’s Attorney General during which time he pushed for tougher drunk driving laws and fought monopolistic business practices in the railroad and meat-packing industries. He briefly ran for President in 2019-20 and emphasized opposing “dark money” and Citizens United.
He is running against Incumbent Steve Daines in a Solid Red state. Recent Polls show them tied. Montana’s other Senator is Democrat Jon Tester who recently won re-election. Daines aligns himself with Donald Trump.
While the primary has not yet occurred all viable opponents withdrew upon Bullock’s entry, so we are donating directly to the candidate.
We all know how critical the 2020 election is. Each week Together for 2020 will be highlighting specific key actions. With all the groups in Massachusetts working together, we can have a huge impact. We hope to have your help to get the message out to your members.

Coronavirus Relief: The HEROES Act
The new coronavirus relief bill passed by the House is being ignored by Mitch McConnell. This bill would provide help for ordinary people and not the friends and family of the Senate leader. You can read a summary about the HEROES Act HERE.
We knew that Republicans would try to strip the HEROES Act of its most important protections, but so far they have refused to even consider it. McConnell has been working hard to avoid providing relief to the states, to those on the front lines, and to ordinary families and people who need it, and has repeatedly promised 'the next bill' would do so. Let's make sure our elected officials hold him to it!
Click HEREto demand that they pass the HEROES Act as it was introduced, without any motions to recommit or amendments to water it down! We need every item in the HEROES Act to save lives!
