Hurrah for Minuteman Volunteers! A couple of weeks ago, we wrote to you asking for your help in registering citizens to vote by mail in Manatee Country Florida.
WOW~ you went to the supply bin of postcards on Michelle's porch in Lexington, grabbed envelopes of postcards and mailed them off to Florida. The chart below shows what you are accomplishing! The Democratic Office in Manatee County sends their gratitude and thanks for your support. We have a few more weeks to push toward the goal of reaching 50,000 voters.
WHY is this campaign important? Research in Florida shows that voters who register to vote by mail actually submit a ballot at a rate 50% higher than voters who register to go to the polling place on Election Day! This data was collected before COVID, so we suspect that the impact will be even higher. We also suspect that most of the Not Politically Affiliated (NPA) voters will vote for Biden. Florida is really suffering from COVID and Trump’s response has not helped them.

SO - please keep making the trek to Michelle's porch (emailjeanresists@gmail.comfor address), dropping your $5.00 materials fee in the blue donation box, and SEND MORE POSTCARDS to Florida.

HOW TO BE AN ALLY FOR FAIR VOTING.
Voter suppression in communities of color is one of the most alarming threats to our democracy and the November election. Republicans are hiring 50,000 poll watchers to challenge and intimidate voters under the guise of fighting “voter fraud” (which, in fact, is vanishingly rare).
How can we in the greater Concord community be allies to our fellow citizens throughout the country?
Please join us on August 2 at 4:00 (3:45 social time) to hear Horace Small, one of Massachusetts’ great warriors for racial justice, address these issues. He will advise us on how we can best support voter registration drives and a fair election. Small leads Black Ballot Power and the Union of Minority Neighborhoods.

Help get the ROE Act out of Committee with this Roe Act Toolkit!
The ROE Act, which stands for Remove Obstacles and Expand Abortion Access (S1209/H3320), would reform our state’s abortion laws, ensuring that anyone, regardless of age, income, or insurance status could access safe, legal abortion. This bill would put the right to abortion into our state laws at a time when those rights are slipping away elsewhere. The act is still in committee so we are keeping the pressure on. This awesome toolkit has everything you need to get the word out about the Roe Act.
